When we were reading we ran into the question “Did you buy the Judge Magnum to shoot custom made 45’S?”.
I wanted to shoot some custom made 45 Colts rounds so bad that I had to buy a Judge exclusively to do so, as a normal 45 Colt gun will not chamber them. Yes I bought the rounds and then went looking for a gun to shoot them from. The Judge Magnum, IMHO, stood above all the other options. This round is 1.
I was in ye ole’ gun shop the other day discussing the judge with one of the sales people. He was of the opinion that you could safely fire 454 Casull from the judge, since the case is just a lengthened 45 colt , and it fits in the chamber.
Shotgun shells are either filled with birdshot as a 2.5 inch size with various weights, or most buckshot as a 3 inch shell. Most Taurus Judges handle a variety of 2.5 inch shells, but as mentioned, the 6.5 inch barrel model does have 3 inch shell capabilities. The weight of your .45 Colt load will determine the velocity and energy of your round.
Maybe you need to go buy a BFR instead. Or, at least, one of the Magnum Judges so you can run .454Casulls that are hotter than .45-70’s through it .
